Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal asked school students to write letters to Punjab and Haryana counterparts over pollution caused by stubble burning.
The air quality in Delhi continued to be 'severe' for the fifth consecutive day as the city's air quality index (AQI) stood at 435 at 10.30 am on Saturday. People are advised to stay indoors and if possible, cut down on outdoor activity as much as possible.
Environment Pollution (Prevention and Control) Authority (EPCA) has declared a public health emergency in the national capital and ordered a complete ban on construction till 6 am Tuesday. Meanwhile, the Delhi government Friday ordered the closure of all schools till November 5 and distributed 50 lakh masks to students.
