AP Government scraps Helmet rule

People of Andhra Pradesh got a breather from the compulsory-Helmet rule imposed by the State Government.
Transport Minister Siddha Raghava Rao on Sunday made it clear wearing helmet while riding a two-wheeler isn't mandatory for now and the deadline has been extended. He passed clear instructions to the Police Department in this regard.
Siddha Raghava Rao felt the need for launching awareness programmes to explain the benefits of using helmet for people. He added, Wearing Helmet will be made compulsory after holding extensive awareness campaign.
AP Government has gone back on its decision after receiving complaints against the Police Department for alleged corruption using the rule in their favour. The concerned Minister announced the decision after consulting Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
