Siddipet Collector P Venkatrami Reddy, who was in the news recently for warning the farmers to not go for paddy farming, took a surprising decision and took voluntary retirement from his services a year before his service comes to an end. His decision hinted at the former collector venturing into politics.

It has been widely reported that he might be given a chance in the Telangana State Legislative Council (MLC) elections and the ruling TRS is expected to nominate him into the house. News of Venkatrami Reddy entering politics is not new. Whenever an election comes, his name surfaces alleging his political entry.

With the collector announcing his retirement, the reports of his political entry gained momentum. As the Telangana government has not announced the candidates' list for the nominated posts, experts believe that Venkatrami Reddy's name might be taken into consideration by the TRS boss.

As a big development in Telangana, Venkatrami Reddy reportedly announced his voluntary retirement on Monday. He met Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar at his chambers and submitted his retirement letter. Reddy, the member of the 1996 batch had earlier worked in Sircilla and Medak districts.
