The Crisis in the Punjab wing of Congress is not over yet. While the Congress leadership had managed to keep an end to the damage caused by former Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, another senior leader had shocked the Congress party.

Senior Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu had written to the President of Indian National Congress saying that he is resigning from the party. He had posted his resignation letter on his Twitter handle.

In his letter, Navjot Singh Sidhu said that he can't compromise on the future and welfare of Punjab. Confirming the resignation news, the Cricketer-turned-politician said he will serve the Congress party. Sindhu said he is stepping down as the Chief of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee.

"The collapse of a man's character stems from the compromise corner. I can never compromise on Punjab's future and the agenda for the welfare of Punjab. Therefore, I hereby resign as the President of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee. I will continue to serve the Congress," Navjot Sidhu said in his resignation letter.

While the reason behind Singu announcing the resignation, the development took the Congress party by surprise. As the new task, the Congress party should pick a new leader to lead the Punjab Congress.
