When the novel Coronavirus hit the country, all the states suffered from the virus spread but the Maratha land Maharashtra suffered the most. The state recorded the highest number of cases, deaths. It was the major contributor to the country's Covid tool. But things have changed now.

Maharashtra had managed to bring the situation under control and the state capital Mumbai that saw thousands of cases and deaths reported zero Covid deaths. The development should be considered a piece of good news to the state. The government, and concerned officials who made sure that people will get the awareness and follow the required protocols need a special mention here.

Sharing the good news of Mumbai seeing zero Covid deaths, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal took to Twitter to announce the same and thanked the staff members of the richest municipal corporation in India for their great work.

Mumbai achieved a rare feat by seeing no deaths caused by the novel Coronavirus on Sunday. For the first time since the pandemic made its way into India, the financial capital of India, Mumbai reported zero deaths.

"This is great news for all of us in Mumbai. As Municipal Commissioner, Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai, I salute Team MCGM for their spectacular performance" Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation(BMC) Commissioner tweeted.

The civic body of Mumbai, and Thackeray scion, Minister Aaditya Thackeray also shared their happiness of Mumbai's Record of no deaths on Sunday. While expressing happiness over the zero deaths, Minister Aaditya Thackeray had appealed to everyone to not let the mask down. He had urged everyone to take the vaccine doses if they haven't.

"The good news. Mumbai today has recorded zero Covid deaths, the first time since March 26, 2020. Keep the mask on the face and get yourself vaccinated if you haven't yet. Help us keep Mumbai safe, we're here to serve you," Aaditya Thackeray's tweet reads.

Looking at the Covid situation in Mumbai, 367 more people were found positive for the virus on Sunday. With this, the total number of Covid cases in the capital city have mounted to 7,50,808. As per the information shared by the Mumbai civic body, as many as 16,180 people lost their lives to the virus so far.
