Singapore government has took a dare step to protect the health of its citizens. The developed country imposed ban on a wide variety of tobacco products including gutka, khaini and zarda.

The health ministry issued a statement on Monday and said that the decision was taken to ensure that such products do not gain a foothold in the country. This ban is part of the ongoing efforts to protect the public against the potential harms of tobacco products; th eminsitry opined

This ban would be implemented in two phases.The first phase targets cigarettes, dissolvable tobacco and any product containing nicotine.

The second phase will take effect from August 2016 and in second phase the ban will impose on products like nasal snuff, oral snuff, gutkha, khaini and zarda.The ministry said anyone who breaks the ban can be fined up to 10,000 Singapore dollars or jailed up to six months or both can apply.
