Sheila Dikshit, who served as Delhi chief minister from 1998 to 2013, was appointed Kerala governor in March just before the model code of conduct came into force for the Lok Sabha polls. She had not accepted PMO request to resign from Governor post in early phase.
During this week she had met with Home minister Rajnath Singh on her Delhi Visit given speculation on her resignation. Now today she had confirmed her resignation in media and sent letter to home ministry. On the other side President announced four new governors in replacing previous congress governors after their resignation.
Rajnath welcomed this decision and preparing plans to announce new governor to the state. BJP is considering congress governors seriously and asking their resignation at priority created some what panic situation to many governors. In last few days around five governors are stepped down from the posts following PMO instructions.
