SIT raids at Gali's Houses

Mining baron and former Karnataka Minister Gali Janardhan Reddy who is accused in the illegal mining case has once again in news. The Special Investigation Team, SIT today carried out raids on residence of Gali Janardhan Reddy in Bellary.
SIT of the Karnataka Lokayukta raided the houses of G Janardhana Reddy and seven others, including two legislators. As per reports the raids were happened in connection with alleged export of iron ore illegally from Belikere port.
The raids were conducted at Kampli, Ballari and Hospete,The team has seized documents pertaining to the illegal export of iron ore and the team is scrutinizing the documents. The SIT was led by Kausalya Kumar
Gali is facing allegations of exporting iron ore illegally from Belikere port and it was first exposed by former Lokayukta N Santosh Hegde. In his report Santosh had said 7.74 million tonnes of iron ore were illegally exported between 2006-2007 and 2010-11.
