The Local Body polls are underway in a phased manner in Andhra Pradesh. The state is also scheduled to have Municipal polls in March. The state will have one more election in March.

The autonomous constitutional authority, the Election Commission of India has released the election schedule for six Member of Legislative Council(MLC) positions in Andhra Pradesh under the MLA quota.

According to the election schedule released by the Election Commission of India, the polls for the six positions will be held on the 15th of March. The nomination papers will be accepted from the 25th of February.

The nominations will be reviewed on the 5th of March. The candidates can withdraw their nomination papers till the 8th of March. The elections will be held from 9 AM to 4 PM on March 15th. The vote counting will take place on March 15th.

The six MLC positions include four MLCs, whose term will end from the 29th of March. YSRCP Rajya Sabha member Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose has resigned from his post. By-elections will be held for one position, which fell vacant after the demise of Challa Ramakrishna Reddy.The term of four MLCs, Tippeswamy, Sandhya Rani, Veravenkata Chowdary, and Sheik Ahmad Ikbal will end next month.
