Skyroot Aerospace, the Indian startup has successfully test-fired its homegrown rocket engine. It is the first private company in India to launch the upper stage rocket engine named 'Raman, which can place multiple satellites into orbit. However, it is not an entire rocket yet, but the company plans to have that off the ground as well by next year.

Skyroot is founded by former scientists of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and in the next six months, the aerospace company aims to test two more rocket stages and the fourth and final stage will take another year.

Interestingly, the company didn't reveal on when the rocket engine was test-fired.

"We demonstrated India's first 100 per cent 3D-printed Bi-Propellant Liquid Rocket Engine injector. Compared to traditional manufacturing this reduced the overall mass by 50 per cent, reduced total number of components and lead time by 80 per cent," Pawan Kumar Chandana, Co-Founder and CEO of Skyroot Aerospace said.
