Smriti Irani's Emotional Speech a bit hit
By: Tupaki Desk | 24 Feb 2016 4:01 PM GMTUnion HRD Minister Smriti Irani finally broke her silence on HCU research scholar Rohith Vemula's suicide in Lok Sabha Today.
During her emotional speech, Smriti Irani told: 'My name is Smriti Irani. I challenge can anyone name my caste. In my 20 Months as Minister, I served my country, people without prejudice. I didn't ask for their religion or caste. No one can raise a finger against me'.
Taking a dig at Congress vice president, Smriti questioned, 'Had Rahul Gandhi visited Telangana at least once when 600 students committed suicide for statehood. He made multiple visits to HCU after Rohith's suicide upon seen an opportunity'.
Smriti Irani said no one bother to take Rohith Vemula's body to hospital and instead what happened was seen as a political opportunity. She pointed out several leaders from Opposition Parties, accusing her of discrimination, have sought favors from her for admissions to their children and kin.
The counter attack by Smriti Irani has been received so well. Few people even came to the opinion that she is a potential PM candidate.
