Joining the race for Marks & Grades ruined the lives of around 20 Youngsters in Telangana. Still, Public Representatives continue to send a wrong indication to the public that marks/percentage means a lot. The manner in which Union Minister Smriti Irani and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's Wife reacted after the release of CBSE Class 12 results raised many eye-brows.
Smriti Irani: 'Ok saying it out loud - Proud of My Son Zohr. Scored well in 12th Boards. Best of 4 - 91%. Special Yahoo for 94% in Economics. Maaf karna, Today I'm just a gloating Mom'.
Kejriwal's Wife Sunita: 'With God's grace and well-wishers blessings, Son has secured 96.4 percent in CBSE Class X11. In high gratitude'.
There is nothing wrong about sharing the good news with public but these prominent personalities need to realise what impact certain statements gonna leave on the society. Smriti Irani or Sunita Kejriwal has got every right to congratulate their children and celebrate the achievement with their family members, but boasting about the marks on a public platform is certainly avoidable. Don't they think such statements would make Children and Parents take marks so seriously. Gone are the days studies are meant for Knowledge, now it has become a race for Marks/Grades!
