Smriti Irani Mocks SC Verdict, Gets Trolled!
By: Tupaki Desk | 26 Oct 2018 7:49 AM GMTUnion Textiles Minister Smriti Irani differed with the Supreme Court verdict allowing Women in menstrual age from entering Sabarimala Temple in Kerala. Saying that she is nobody to speak against the supreme court verdict while being Union Minister, She opined: 'Would you carry a napkin seeped with menstrual blood and walk into a friend's house? You won't..that just plain common sense! Do you think it's respectful to do the same when you walk into the house of god? I have the right to pray, but no right to desecrate. That is the difference that we need to recognise and respect'.
The Union Minister was trolled on Social Media using funny memes and jokes after she made these comments. After the backlash, Smriti Irani shared a famous quote from Kishore Kumar song, 'If I speak, Then you will accuse Me of blabbering' with the photograph of herself tied with ropes and mouth shut from her daily soup 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi'.
Does Smriti Irani don't believe that Women have the basic common sense to decide when they should visit a temple? Was she of the opinion that 5-Judge SC bench which delivered the verdict lacked Common Sense? Is it fair to stop someone in the age group of 10-50 from entering temple just because they belong to a particular gender? It's high our Leaders stop politicizing religious beliefs!
