The accused of sensational snake gang case who involved in a gang-rape and other crimes by terrorizing people with poisonous snakes is all set to get the punishment. The Ranga Reddy district court on Tuesday found eight of the nine Snake Gang accused guilty of rape and torture. The court announced the decision today and reserved the judgment for tomorrow.

In 2014 July Hyderabad police have arrested a gang of nine people suspected to have violated at least 37 women by terrorizing them with a live snake. The arrest took place on a complaint filed by a young woman. She complained about sexual assault on her after scaring her and her friend at a farm house.

It triggered a flood of similar complaints after the police assured the victims of complete confidentiality. After receiving the complaints the Pahadi Sharif police booked nine of the snake gang members.

The members of the snake gang threatened the victims with a snake and also filmed the crime on their mobile phones. Upon police investigation it was revealed that the gang was involved in several crimes including extortion and was also settling disputes. Out of 37 victims 21 of them deposed before the court.The court which heard the arguments found eight of them guilty.

The eight members Dayani, Khader Barakba, Tayyab Basalama, Mohammed Parvez, Sayyad Anwar, Khaja Ahmed, Mohammed Ibrahim and Ali Barakba were found guilty. The ninth accused in the case Salam Handi was acquitted. As per lawyers they may get will imprisonment up to 20 years.
