So Near Yet So Far For Kavitha

o near yet so far... !! this seems to be cent per cent true for Chief Minister KCR's daughter Kalwakuntla Kavitha. She is all but elected as the local body constituency MLC as her party has a bulldozer majority. She has over 500 votes as against 100 votes for the BJP.
Yet, the elections are not being held because of the covid situation. So, despite enjoying the majority and despite being cocksure of a victory, Kavitha is unable to formally become a member of the legislative council. The wait is only getting longer. Unless she formally becomes an MLC, she cannot enjoy the perks of power. This is a strange situation for her. Meanwhile, within the party, several relatives of KCR are rising. They are becoming increasingly powerful in the corridors of Pragathi Bhavan.
Kavitha, who was the MP of Nizamabad, had lost to BJP's Aravind Dharmapuri in 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Since then, she has been in hibernation and did not respond to several requests from the cadre. It is only recently that she has again become active.
