Godavari Pushkar Deaths: Commission Report!

As many as 29 devotees died due to stampede during 2015 Godavari Maha Pushkaram which arrives once in 144 Years. State Government appointed Justice Somayajulu Commission to probe the tragedy. On Wednesday, The report submitted by Somayajulu Commission was tabled in the Assembly.
As per the report, Wide Publicity about Auspicious Muhurat has led to the stampede at pushkar ghat. There is no rule that Holy Dip is possible only at a particular muhurat. Print & Electronic Media mislead the Public and Government. Chief Minister wasn't responsible for the Pushkar Ghat tragedy. Stampede happened after CM left the Ghat. Allegations were made against the Government for political mileage.
Width of the Pushkar Ghat is just about 300-metre. This is one of the reasons for the stampede which resulted in the loss of lives.
Kin of the Deceased & Injured Devotees received ex-gratia announced by the TDP Government.
