A day after Chandrababu Naidu accused Modi of cheating Andhrites, BJP MLC Somu Veerraju convened a press meet in Vijayawada and came down heavily on CMs of Telugu States, Union Minister Sujana Chowdary, Former MPs Lagadapati Rajagopal and Undavalli Arun Kumar. He claimed BJP is the only party which has done justice to Andhra Pradesh when Chandrababu Naidu & rest of all neglected the interests of the state.
Somu Veerraju: 'BJP alone is committed for the development of AP. CM himself told Special Status will be of no use. He even commented Special Status could fetch just Rs 3000 crore and TDP is able to receive much more from Centre. Why don't anybody question the double standards of CM? Even during Telangana Movement, Chandrababu Naidu adopted two-eye strategy for political gains. He claims to have given letter seeking separate state in Telangana. In AP, He blames other parties for bifurcation and claims to be fighting for equal justice. Never did BJP practiced double standards and we have always accepted facts. Chandrababu never bothered to develop 13 AP Districts during his 9 years rule as CM. Neither TDP nor Congress demanded what AP needs during bifurcation. Venkaiah Naidu alone fought for AP rights in Rajya Sabha. He sought Special Status for 15 years. What did Congress include in the Bill? What has TDP MPs spoke for AP in Rajya Sabha? Everyone knew what's there in 14th Finance Commission. Venkaiah alone fought for merger of 7 mandals in AP for Polavaram. Has Congress MPs Lagadapati and Undavalli included 7 mandals in the Bill? Sujana Chowdary didn't bother to object though a TDP MP commented AP doesn't need Polavaram. Though we don't have a single MLA in AP, BJP made sure the proposal was included in the bill and took the responsibility to implement it. BJP did try to merge Bhadrachalam with AP. However, KCR and Harish Rao disapproved that proposal citing power projects. They had fallen on the feet of Sonia Gandhi to ensure Bhadrachalam remains with Telangana'.
