Close Parliament So that We Go Home: Sonia
By: Tupaki Desk | 9 March 2018 12:21 PM GMTIn her speech at India Today Conclave, Sonia Gandhi breathed fire on the Narendra Modi-led NDA Government. She opined claims of BJP that India marched towards progress, prosperity and greatness since 2014 is an insult to the intelligence of the people.
The Former Congress Chief admits she always knew Manmohan Singh would be a better PM than her. She confessed public speaking doesn't come naturally to her and hence she was called a reader than a leader.
Sonia accepts Congress were out-marketed in 2014 Polls and her party need to develop a new style for connecting with people. She stresses the need to work on how to project Congress policies and programs.
1) Was India really in darkness before May 26th, 2014?
2) Union Minister Ananth Kumar says BJP Government wishes to change Constitution. Such comments are an attempt to disturb the harmony in the country.
3) No question of allowing BJP to retain power
4) Opposition were denied opportunity to voice their opinion in Parliament. They aren't even following the guidelines of Parliament. If they shut Parliament, We will go home. Parliament Procedure at present is vastly different from how it used to be during Vajpayee regime.
5) Opposition didn't get the chance to question Centre over PNB Scam.
6) Vajpayee used to have utmost respect for the Parliament. I don't know Narendra Modi as a person.
7) Judiciary is in crisis at present
8) Corruption allegations against Congress are projected as very big conspiracy. Democracy allows dissent and debate, not monologues.
9) Party will decide whether I should contest or not in next election.
10) Congress will come to power in upcoming Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh polls.
