Following this, some media reports claim that Sonia Gandhi responded to the letter and said as she completed one year as interim president, she might resign from the post.
Not only that she reportedly told the leaders that they can choose their new chief who can lead the party and get the party on the right track.
With the Congress leaders sending the letter ahead of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) which will be conducted on Monday, the developed attracted the interest of political circles.
Now some media reports claim that Congress interim President Sonia Gandhi might resign from her post and let the party leaders chose their new President.
These rumors came in the light of recently former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi and Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra announcing that they are ok with having a non-Gandhi family member as Congress chief.
