Sonia should step-down, Rahul must step-up: Digvijay
By: Tupaki Desk | 1 Nov 2014 6:49 AM GMTCongress senior leader Digvijay Singh advised Rahul Gandhi to take over the reins of the party from his mother Sonia Gandhi by saying its time for the young leader to step up to boost the morale of leaders and workers who were depressed with Modi wave.
Digvijay didn't agree with the belief that timing wasn't right to promote Rahul Gandhi as Congress President as tough period is gonna continue for at least 4 more years. Instead, He points out young leadership has always worked for Congress.
The senior leader recalls Jawaharlal Nehru becoming AICC President at the age of 38 and Maulana Azad taking charge as party president at 35 years. He feels there would be no better time for Rahul Gandhi to prove his calibre.
