Sonia Skips Campaign In Delhi, Congress In Quandary
By: Tupaki Desk | 4 Feb 2020 7:59 AM GMTThe Congress, which is already lagging behind in the election campaign for the poll-bound Delhi assembly, suffered another major shock when AICC president Sonia Gandhi was ruled out for the electioneering. She is suffering from various ailments and has since been admitted to the hospital.
With Sonia Gandhi out of the campaigning, the Congress will now have to fall back on only Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Wadra. Both the leaders will address a few public meetings in Delhi. However, the Congress campaign in Delhi has been lack lustre and the key leaders from various states are missing from action. With Sonia Gandhi abstaining from campaigning, the campaign has lost its spear-head. On the other hand, the BjP has pitted every resource in the battle for Delhi. Prime Minister Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, several MPs, Ministers and star campaigners have been undertaking massive public contact exercise for Delhi elections.
The Aam Aadmi Party's campaign is being led by CM Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia. The party is banking on free travel to women passengers, Mohalla clinics and anti-BJP mood in the Muslims to win the elections.
