Tension prevails in Ibrahimpur and Jillella villages in Medak District of Telangana state following group clashes over the lynching of a youth. An angry mob attacked the house of Ibrahimpur village sarpanch and set afire her house on Friday to avenge the killing of a youth by her supporters.

As per reports one Srihari (35) of Terlumaddi village in Mustabad mandal of Medak District came to Ibrahimpur on Thursday to attend a programme and he accidentally hits a woman Lakshmi who fell down and reportedly got injured. Lakshmi was sarpanch(headwoman) of the village and upon knowing the news her sons along with some of her followers attacked Srihari and beaten him.

Feeling humiliated, Srihari committed suicide by self-immolation at his house. Villagers belong to Srihari's place went violent following the death of Srihari. Alleging that Lakshmi and her sons were responsible for the suicide of Srihari, his relatives brought the body to Ibrahimpur and kept it in front of the house of Lakshmi.

They also allegedly attacked and set the house on fire. The fire spread to two more houses. Two police officers were also injured in stone pelting by the mob. The irate villagers stopped fire engines at the village entrance.
