South African fast bowler Dale Syetn, one of the best in the business, announced retirement from international cricket on Tuesday with a statement. The 38-year-old speedster had retired from the game after scripting records that are not easy to break by other bowlers.

One quality that makes him different from the other bowlers is that he can bowl with a good pace and swing. He had the record of bowling unplayable deliveries to the best batsmen in the world. He is the best at his work and was a nightmare to a lot of batsmen.

He had dominated the game with his quick pace to a level that he had held on to the number one position in the International Cricket Council(ICC) Test Bowlers Rankings for close to six and half years. No bowler had managed to do the same.

Like the other bowlers, Dale Steyn faced serious issues with his age and fitness issues. He has been having a bad phase in the game over the past three years. Cricket fans felt very bad for Steyn seeing his bad game. To end the sadness of the fans, he had decided to bid goodbye to the game.

In the long career that had lasted for sixteen years, Dale Steyn had played 93 Test matches, 125 ODIs, and 47 T20s. He had added 439, 196, and 64 wickets in the respective formats in his glorious career. He had a good journey in the Indian Premier League as well. He had played for RCB in the IPL.

After his retirement, the members of the cricket fraternity have come forward to pay tributes to the speed gun. England pacer James Anderson who is at his best form reacted to the retirement and called Dale Steyn one of the best.
