Speaker makes Close Aide remove his Slippers

A controversy erupted after Kerala Assembly Speaker N Sakthan was caught making his aide remove his sandals. This incident happened during the Harvest Festival held in the Kerala Assembly premises on Wednesday. The photograph went viral within few minutes on the social media and people even went to the extent of demanding his resignation.
Mr. Sakthan clarifies Doctors advised him not to bend due to the physical ailment he has suffering from few years. He even adds, 'The ailment affect both of his eyes and he had to undergo 10 laser surgeries. I was advised not to bend, lift weights and expose myself to sunlight for long duration since then.'
The Speaker claims he usually prefers wearing strapless sandals but wore a different set of footwear for harvest festival as he has to walk in muddy fields. He, however, realised that a mat has been arranged to walk after reaching the venue and that's when his aide helped him take off the sandals.
