In an interesting turn of events, a special court had served a summons to YCP chief and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in which it had directed him to be present before it on the 28th of this month, which falls on Monday, reports say.

As per the information, the summons was served by the Hyderabad Nampally House of Representatives in connection with an old case that traces back to 2014. A case was filed back then on the grounds of allegedly violating the election code of conduct.

Getting deeper into the details, back in 2014 when the Huzurnagar Assembly elections were going on, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who had floated his YSRCP had reportedly violated the election code. He has been facing allegations in connection with the case.

The YSRCP which was founded in 2011 had fielded a candidate for the Huzurnagar polls. The party had conducted a roadshow which is believed to have been held without information. On the same grounds, a case was filed in Nalgonda by the cops. Besides Jagan, a case was filed against two others.

With the case coming for the hearing, the Special Sessions Court for MLA and MP cases had served notices to Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Srikanth Reddy, and Nagireddy for allegedly violating the Election Code. The summons also marks the first time where a Chief Minister was served the summons.

The Nampally special court had also served notices to Jagan's mother Vijayamma and sister Sharmila on the same grounds. After receiving a summons, the mother-daughter duo had attended the court for the trials. Now it's the turn for the Chief Minister to attend the court.

Now it's interesting to see how CM Jagan responds to the summons. Will he attend the court or seek an exemption from appearing before the court citing his position. Earlier too, he had missed his trial in other cases allowing the opposition leaders, critics, and the rebel MP Raghu Rama Krishna Raju to target him for missing the court sessions. Will he make any change in responding to the summons, we have to wait and see.
