Srisailam Fire Mishap: Rescue Operations Underway To Rescue Trapped Victims

A massive fire broke out at the Srisailam left bank canal in Nagarkurnool district. According to some media reports, the short circuit might have resulted in the fire mashup.

When the sad incident took place as many as 17 members were present on the spot reportedly and eight of them barely managed to escape narrowly and nine persons were trapped in the power station.

It has been reported that nine trapped victims include six employees who work for the Telangana State Power Generation Corporation(TS Genco) while the remaining others work for a private company.

After receiving information about the mishap, Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy, Transco CMD Prabhakar Rao, MLA Guvvala Balraj, District Collector and SP rushed to the spot.

With the smoke engulfing the spot, the firefighters could not take forward the rescue operations and the authorities called for the National Disaster Response Force(NDRF) for further help.

If we have to take anything from the media reports, Deputy Engineers Srinivas, Venkatrao, Assistant Engineers Fatima, Sunder, Kiran and Rambabu and two electrical who work for a private firm were among the trapped people.
