Big Queue for Star Hotels in Amaravati
By: Tupaki Desk | 5 Nov 2017 6:14 AM GMTAs many as 14 Popular Brands (including Inter Continental, Taj, Marriott, Green Park, Hilton, Fortune, GRT, Daspalla, Leela, Oberoi & Marriott, SPG and Best Westerns) have been keen to establish Star Hotels in Amaravati. They, however, sought few changes in the guidelines set by Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA).
While CRDA fixed 100, 150, 200 rooms for Three Star, Four Star & Five Star Hotels respectively, Investors appealed for reduction in no. of rooms to 50-75, 75-100 and 100-125. CRDA is likely to fix 75, 100 and 125 rooms.
CRDA fixed the land price in Capital to Rs 3 crore per acre. Whereas, Investors sought the price reduction and hence Rs 1.5 crore per acre has been finalized.
AP Government wants the Star Hotels to be operational within 30 months after receiving all the clearances. Investors, on the other hand, want this deadline to be increased to 48 months.
CM Chandrababu Naidu set a target of having 1,200 rooms in Star Hotels by 2020.
