Centre Says Plasma Therapy For COVID-19 Might Be Dangerous

The Union Health Ministry said that as there is no proper evidence on the therapy, the procedure might turn fatal if it is not dealt with properly.
To found out the efficiency of plasma therapy, researchers in the country are carrying out a study and the Union Health Ministry has directed the doctors to not follow the therapy until further confirmation.
"There is no approved therapy for Covid 19 in the country including Plasma therapy. Plasma therapy is being experimented with and there is no evidence to support it as a treatment. It is only at an experimental stage. If not used properly, it can create life-threatening complications," Joint secretary of health ministry Lav Agarwal said.
"Plasma therapy is only to be used for research and trial purposes until an ICMR study on its efficacy is completed. ICMR is conducting a nation-wide research to study the efficacy of Plasma therapy," Lav Agarwal maintained.
