Stephen Hawking Passed Away

Renowned Scientist Stephen Hawking who was considered as the World's Greatest Living Scientist has passed away at the age of 76. Spokesperson of his family confirmed the tragic news.
Stephen Hawking was also an astronomer, cosmologist, mathematician and an author. Over 10 million copies of his book 'A Brief History of Time' had been sold out.
The Physicist suffered from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), a neurodegenerative disease, since 1963. His age was just 21 when he was diagnosed with the disease and Doctors predicted death within few years but he survived for 55 years with willpower. This deadly disease left Hawking paralyzed and wheel-chair bound. All he could move is just few fingers of one hand and had to rely on others or technology for taking bath or eating or delivering speech.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Professor Stephen Hawking was an outstanding scientist and academic. 'His grit and tenacity inspired people all over the world. His demise is anguishing. Professor Hawking’s pioneering work made our world a better place. May his soul rest in peace,' he wrote.
