No Entry For Two Star Cricketers in IPL 11
By: Tupaki Desk | 28 March 2018 4:46 PM GMTSteve Smith and David Warner are two of the best batsmen in the World. Any Team would benefit hugely from their services & even their leadership qualities are remarkable. They were the Captain and Vice Captain of Australian Team until recently. While Warner led Sunrisers Hyderabad to victory in IPL 9, Smith was the captain of Rising Pune Supergiants which ended as runners in IPL 10.
However, One blunder committed by these two prolific cricketers ruined their reputation and put their careers at risk. That's the Ball Tampering during the third Test against South Africa last week!
Though ICC limited the punishment to just 1 match ban and cutting match fee, Cricket Australia banned Steve Smith and David Warner who encouraged Bancroft to tamper the ball for 12 Months. The Australian Board permitted the two players to play in IPL 11.
To their shock, BCCI announced a short while ago that Smith and Warner are barred from participating in the 11th edition of IPL. 'We just waited for ICC and Cricket Australia to announce their decision. It's a well thought out decision. Replacements of Smith and Warner will be made available for the two franchises,' said IPL Chairman Rajeev Shukla.
Rajasthan Royals replaced Smith with Rahane as a skipper. On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad might prefer Kane Williamson to replace Warner for the upcoming season.
