Style Statement of DMK Patriarch M Karunanidhi has been a trend setter. For the past 46 Years, The five-time Chief Minister appeared in White n White Attire & Black Spectacles. There was a specific reason behind the black glasses and it's done with a purpose.
Way back in the 60s, Karunanidhi suffered an eye injury. He kept using the black glasses since then upon taking the advice of Doctors seriously.
Last year, The DMK Supremo had put an end to the trend of wearing glass glasses. White Goggles were imported from Germany for the convenience of Karunanidhi.
Interestingly, MG Ramachandran had also preferred wearing black goggles. Karunanidhi and MGR are close buddies during their beginning days in the Industry. Later, They ended up as arch-rivals due to differences of opinion.
