Strict H1B Norms, Indians In Search Of Illegal Routes?
By: Tupaki Desk | 19 Oct 2019 11:18 AM ISTTrump Administration tightening H1B Visa norms resulted in a significant drop in issuance of visas. Strict implementation of the H1B Visa regulations might force Indian Techies to test their luck of entering the United States through illegal routes, be it through Mexico or Hungary.
Recently, Mexican Immigration Authorities deported 311 Indians (310 Males, 1 Female). All of them were sent back to New Delhi on Friday on a charter flight. This is said to be the largest ever deportation carried out by Mexico by air. Such a shocking development clearly hints the desperation of Indian Techies to work in the US.
Tightened H1B Visa Norms created a talent crisis in the United States. 60 Deans and CEOs had written to the US Government seeking a change of the current H1B Visa rules.
Indian Government kept appealing the US to be liberal while issuing H1B Visas to IT Professionals and Engineers. GoI made it clear, 'We won't support illegal immigration anywhere in the World but ready to help documented immigrants who are facing issues'.
As per the data, Non-Mexicans accounted for 62 percent when it comes to apprehensions at the US-Mexico Border. This is an alarming sign for the Trump Administration.
