Income Tax Department conducted raids on Jaya TV Offices and premises belonging to many close aides of VK Sasikala Natarajan on Thursday as part of 'Operation Clean Money'.
BJP MP Subramanian Swamy raised the doubt why no such raids were conducted against DMK supremo M Karunanidhi and his Daughter Kanimozhi. He claims to have submitted a 30-page note to authorities on the frauds of Karunanidhi and his Daughter. 'Why no raids yet?,' he questions.
Days after PM Narendra Modi visited the house of ailing Karunanidhi in Chennai, IT Sleuths conducted raids at 187 locations belonging to Jaya TV & Sasikala's close aides in various cities on allegations such as tax evasion, shell companies & illegal assets. Searches have been conducted in the farm house and other locations linked to TTV Dhinakaran. Even Sasikala's Brother Divakaran who lives in Tiruvarur isn't spared.
TTV Dhinakaran clarified IT Officials conducted searches only at his farmhouse in Puducherry but not in his official residence.
