Rejection Of Indians H-1B Visa Pleas On Rise

More Indians have been facing rejection as compared to the citizens of other countries when it comes to H-1B Visas. In addition, Indians received most number of 'request for evidence' for H-1B Visa Applications. A report by the National Foundation for American Policy, which is a non-profit organization, confirms the same.
Generally, The US Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) places 'Request For Evidence' when it need additional information to take a decision on H-1B Application. Failing to comply with RFE leads to rejection of H-1B visa. The Request For Evidence rate touched 69 percent in the fourth quarter as against 23 percent in the third quarter.
As many as 72 percent of H-1B Applications moved for Indians received RFEs in the 4th Quarter of Financial Year 2017-18. It's about 61 percent in the case of other nations.
H-1B Petitions denial for Indian-born IT Professionals increased by 42 percent during the same period. 23.6 percent of completed H-1B cases for Indians were denied in the 4th Quarter compared to 16.6 percent in 3rd Quarter.
USCIS denied H-1B Petitions for 40 percent of professionals from nations other than India. The denial rate is 19.6 percent in 4th Quarter as against 14 percent in the 3rd Quarter.
