Sumalatha Ready To Contest Elections

Ambareesh who is a key member of Karnataka Congress stayed away from the 2018 Assembly Polls citing health issues. There were speculations of Sumalatha's Political Entry at that time itself. The Actress, however, choose not to foray into the politics. Following the death of Ambareesh, A lot of his Fans and Supporters mounted pressure on Sumalatha to take a plunge into politics for filling the vacuum. Finally, She decided to give politics a try.
Siddaramaiah conveyed to Sumalatha that Congress Leadership would certainly consider her candidature depending on the seat sharing deal with JD (S). Siddaramaiah-led JD (S) has been seeking Mandya MP ticket as part of the seat-sharing with Congress.
When quizzed if she would contest as an independent if Congress denies her Mandya MP Seat, Sumalatha told she will leave it to the people to decided whether if she should contest as independent or not. 'I can't comment on that as of now,' she said.
