Why Gavaskar is better than Sachin?

Millions of people across the World believe Sachin Tendulkar is the greatest cricketer of all time. But, Pakistan's World Cup winning captain Imran Khan rates Sunil Gavaskar above any batsman in the World.
According to Imran Khan, Sachin never played an innings like Gavaskar did and he hasn't faced the likes Dennis Lillee & West Indies Best Bowling Attack comprising Ambrose, Walsh & etc., Mr.Khan feels stats of Gavaskar weren't a true reflection of his contribution for the game and he was the only one in India who have faced a range of fast bowlers effectively until Kapil Dev arrived.
At the same time, Imran Khan don't want to undermine Sachin's contributions and feels comparisons of players from different eras isn't fair.
Imran Khan named MS Dhoni as a wicker keeper in All Time XI and praises the way he handles tough situations.
