Sunita Parmar, a Hindu woman in the Sindh province of Pakistan, created history by emerging as the first from the minority community to contest Assembly Elections in Pakistan.

The 31-Year-Old belonging to the Meghwar Community contests as independent from Singh Assembly Constituency PS-56 in Tharparkar District. She says failure of the previous governments in delivering their promises compelled her to contest the polls.

Exuding confidence on her victory, Ms Parmar declares women in the 21st century are brave enough to even fight the lion. She claims to be fighting for women empowerment, especially education.

As per 2017 Census, Half of the 1.6 million population in Tharparkar District are Hindus. This is where highest number of Hindus stay in Pakistan
