Supreme Courts Raps State Govt's Over Mishandling Of Virus Patients

India's top court on Friday took a strong view of the treatment provided to Covid-19 patients and dead bodies in government hospitals across the country. The supreme court described the situation worse than what animals would have to suffer.
A three-judge bench of the Supreme Court questioned the state government over the care and concern shown to the dead bodies.
While some patients are treated worse than animals, sadly some bodies were found in the garbages.
The court said that the government hospitals aren't giving due care and concern to the bodies with the patients' families not even informed about the deaths.
In some cases, families haven't been able to attend the last rites. The court issued notices to state governments including Delhi and the capital's LNJP hospital seeking a reply on the matter.
