Supreme Court Gives An Unbelievable Verdict!

Law experts are opining that the comments and verdicts coming from the Supreme Court are strange. They say that the recent verdict of the Supreme Court also comes in the same category. Usually voters aspects like what is the qualification of candidates and what is their knowledge. That is the reason why TN Seshan who worked as the Commissioner of the Election Commission advised that leaders should share the details with people.

That's why it was said that candidates running the elections should clearly mention what is their education qualification in the election affidavit. This has been going on for three decades. So the situation used to be such that candidates should mention their qualifications.

This helps the voters to know what the candidates studied and what knowledge they have. But a few leaders are hiding such details from coming out.

For example, if we take the examples of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and Telangana Chief Minister KCR. It is a secret and no one knows what they studied. No one tells this and no one is let to tell this. However, the Election Commission considers this an offense.

That is an old story. That will not be possible from now after. Because the Supreme Court gave a sensational verdict on the education qualification of the leaders. The Top court said that it is not an issue what the leaders say about their education qualifications.

The Supreme Court said that giving false information on education in the affidavit is not wrong and maintained that voters will not vote to look at the education qualification. Having said that, the Court said that cannot be seen as a criminal act as per sections 123(2) and 123(4) of the Representation of the People Act. "No one votes on the basis of educational qualifications in our country anyways," the bench said.

The bench comprising K.M Joseph and Justice Nagarathna heard the petition. Nagarathna said that except for Kerala, people are not voting for candidates looking at their education qualifications. Law experts say that leaders can go forward without worrying about the qualification.
