By: Tupaki Desk | 31 Aug 2015 10:23 AM GMTThe Supreme Court Today struct down the petition seeking cancellation of bail granted to Bollywood star Salman Khan in connection with the hit-and-run case.
On May 6th this year, A Session's Court found Salman Khan guilty in the sensational 2002 hit-and-run case and imprisoned him to 5 years in jail on charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder and drunk/rash driving. The Bombay High Court has granted bail to the actor on the same day following which one of the victims moved Supreme Court to cancel it.
However, The Apex Court bench headed by Chief Justice HL Duttu dismissed the petition. This came as big relief for the 'Dabangg' Star.
Salman Khan rammed his Land Cruiser into a bakery in Suburban Bandra on September 28th, 2002. One person was killed and four others suffered injuries in the incident. All of the victims are pavement dwellers.
