Amaravati Land Scam: SC Hears Plea, Serves Notices To TDP Leaders And SIT

The much talked about Amaravati land scam which is believed to have taken place during the regime of the previous Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government has reached the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court, which heard the plea on the land scam in the Amaravti region has served notices to TDP leaders and Special Investigation Team (SIT) team. The next hearing was adjourned for four weeks.
The case reached the Top court of the country after the AP government moved the court by filing a Special Leave Petition against the orders issued by the AP High Court to stay the formation of SIT to probe into the land scam.
Responding to a question asked by the Constitution Bench, Dushyanth Dave, who appeared before the court on the behalf of AP government said the state government will review the decisions of the previous government where irregularities on a large scale might take place, reports claimed.
The Counsel reportedly told the court that the TDP leaders obstructed the SIT investigation in the Amaravati land scam. Many big names in the state and party leaders were involved in the case.
