Jaya - Be prepared to face Criticism: SC

The Supreme Court on Wednesday reacted seriously on the various defamation cases filed by Tamil Nadu Government against Critics as per the instructions of CM J Jayalalithaa. Much to the embarrassment of Amma, Apex Court advised her to face criticism while being a public figure.
SC slammed Jayalalithaa for trying to settle scores using defamation cases. It added, 'No State in the country misuses Government Machinery alike Tamil Nadu'. Responding to the defamation suit filed for media attention on Jayalalithaa's health condition, Supreme Court ruled such cases can't be filed against media houses just for reporting CM's medical issues.
In July this year, SC Bench struck down the defamation suits filed by Jayalalithaa citing it amounts to curtailing the freedom of speech. Still, Tamil Nadu Govt hasn't learnt any lessons.
