Supreme Court Slapped 1 Lakh Fine For A Lawyer Over His Publicity Stunt

One should not try to use their profession for the bar deeds be it shooting for fame and taking advantage of the position. A lawyer who tried to make use of his profession was slapped with a fine of Rs 1 lakh.
Going into details, the Supreme Court said that it cannot hear the case of the ban on liquor in the states and imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh as the Supreme Court termed the lawyer's actions as a publicity stunt.
The case reached the apex court with the Tamil Nadu High Court ruling out to close the liquor shops in the state and maintained that there were huge crowds at the liquor outlets and no social distancing norms were maintained.
In the petition, the Tamil Nadu government said that they cannot go for online booking and door delivery of liquor in the state and maintained that they cannot cover the entire state.
