Sensational Verdict on Aadhaar by SC

Aadhaar is something every Indian should have and it has become more important than a person's life. Recently, Himachal Pradesh Government declared Death Certificate can't be issued without Aadhaar. It shows how much importance the 12-digit ID have in the tri-color nation.
Cases have been filed all over the country against Aadhaar on grounds that it's invading the privacy. Social Activists have complained Aadhaar poses a threat to Right-to-Privacy permitted by Article 21. Still, Neither Centre nor State Governments took the complaints seriously.
Petitions have been moved in Supreme Court over making Aadhaar mandatory and they dubbed it as infringement of privacy. The Apex Court delivered a historic judgement on Thursday stating Privacy is the basic right.
Supreme Court chief justice KS Khehar headed 9-members Bench pronounced that Individual Privacy is a fundamental right. The Bench maintained that Aadhaar database was originally introduced as a voluntary programme which provides an identity card to every Indian.
