AP: Supreme Says Ok For House Plots In R-5 Zone!

The Amaravati region in Andhra Pradesh continues to hit the headlines due to various reasons. It has to be mentioned here that the Andhra Pradesh government issued a gazette notification to give house plots to the poor in R5 Zone in the region. However, the Amaravati farmers and locals are not happy with this.
Now the Andhra Pradesh government faced a big relief as the Supreme Court granted a green signal for the land distributions in the R-5 zone. The Apex Court said that the state government has the power to allot house sites for the poor. This can be seen as a big sigh of hope for the state government.
While the Andhra Pradesh government faced a big relief, the Supreme Court also said that the decision taken by the Andhra Pradesh government should abide by the final verdict of the Andhra Pradesh High Court.
The Supreme Court gave the orders while hearing a petition filed by the Amaravati farmers. After the High Court said that the decision of the Andhra Pradesh government is not wrong, the farmers knocked on the doors of the Supreme Court. But they did not get relief there.
The Amaravati farmers have issues with the R-5 Zone as they say that the land was allocated for industrial purposes and that giving lands from the area is against the Master plan of the CRDA. They first moved the High Court and then finally knocked on the doors of the Supreme Court.
