Suresh Babu Vs Kadiyam Srihari : Who Would Be Council Chairperson?

Will Swami Goud have another run as the chairperson of the Telangana legislative council? Or will he be asked to make way for another chairperson? This interesting question is doing rounds in the ruling TRS in Telangana.

Swami Goud's term is coming to an end in March and there are doubts as to whether he would be given another term. If the sources are to be believed, the TRS leadership is considering various other names as the MLC candidate. If Swami Goud is not renominated this time, that would be the end of his political career. TRS sources say that former Assembly speaker Suresh Reddy, who had joined the TRS ahead of the recent Assembly elections, may be made the chairperson of the legislative council. For this he has to be nominated to the council in Governor's quota. However, the names of Kadiyam Srihari and Fareeduddin are also doing rounds. Kadiyam Srihari was a minister in the last government and it is likely that he may not be made a minister this time. Similarly, Fareeduddin, a former minister, too might not get a berth in the ministry in the present government. So, he too is trying for the post.

But, will KCR give both speaker and council chairperson posts to Nizamabad district only? Let's wait and see how things unfold.
