The coronavirus pandemic has changed the normal life for everyone, especially working professionals. To curb the deadly virus, every sector that has flexibility, including software companies has allowed its employees to work from home. Some companies are also planning to take steps towards permanent work from home.

LinkedIn, the world's largest professional social network has conducted an online professional network survey and found that WFH poses a number of new challenges. The survey was conducted from March to September this year, selecting 16,199 work-from-home employees in major cities across the country.

Initially, the employees enjoyed the work from home but slowly many of them are facing psychological problems. They found it difficult to work because they were confined to one place in the house and stayed there for days without going out.

Two out of every five people, or 41 percent, are found to be suffering from depression. Having to be available to the company 24 hours a day. With the increase in working hours, the burden on employees has increased with the ongoing online meetings. One in every three feels their personal growth and life is damaged.

According to the survey, about 39% of professionals are experiencing increased stress and anxiety due to pandemic. More than 80% of them were never offered time off for well-being, by their employers. Only 23 percent of employees are found to have flexible working hours at work-from-home and the support they need.
