One Complaint From BJP, SP Gets Marching Orders

Is the BJP controlling the Election Commission? This is the doubt political watchers are getting post the decision of the Election Commission to transfer IPS officer Venkateshwarlu from the post of SP of Suryapet. He has been relieved from election duties. The orders to this effect were issued on Friday and Venkateshwarlu was asked to report in the headquarters. In his place Bhupalapally SP R Bhaskaran has been asked to officiate as the Suryapet SP.
Venkateshwarlu has been removed hours after the BJP has lodged a complaint about misuse of official position against the SP. The BJP has complained that the TRS government was using SP and the Collector to lure the voters with money. BJP state president Laxman has met the EC officials on Thursday and hours after, the SP has been moved out. The BJP has also complained the police have foisted cases against Sarpanches Association president Bhumanna and questioned his arrest.
Political watchers say that instead of the Congress, which is the main contender for the MLA contest, it is the BJP which has gone on active mode and lodged a complaint against the TRS. And the election commission too has acted quickly on the complaint. Ths shows that the BJP clout on the election commission is growing and it is calling the shot.
