Tagore out Thackeray in: But the same game continues in T Congress

A very familiar drama will be played out in Hyderabad on January 11. Newly appointed Telangana Congress affairs incharge Manik Rao Thackeray will visit the state for the first time after taking over. There will be the same bonhomie and warm welcomes by all Congressmen. He would be profusely garlanded and there would be the same old best wishes. His speech too will in all probability be no different.
But, the real game would start only after he sets foot in Hyderabad. The pro and anti Revanth Reddy groups would try to put up a show of strength. Both the groups will try to get one up on the other. In fact, the same thing happened when earlier TPCC affairs incharge Manickam Tagore was appointed. But, soon Manickam Tagore became a persona non grata for the Congress seniors. They claimed that he was way too pro-Revanth and was very biased. So, Tagore had to go.
Soon after coming, Manik Rao Thackeray will have a one-on-one with TPCC chief Revanth Reddy. This will be followed by another similar meeting with CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka. Later, he would meet the Congress party seniors. This would be followed by a meeting with the heads and conveners of all the front organisations and affiliates.
His biggest task is to unify the Congress party and bring together all the warring factions. His other task is to prepare the Congress party for the state assembly elections, which will happen in the later part of this year. His task is also aimed at preparing the party’s strategy for the coming elections. Let’s wait and see how Thackeray will do what Tagore could not do.
