Taj Mahal is one of the eight wonders of the world but the discussions and controversy surrounding Taj Mahal don't appear to subside in near future. It is known that Taj Mahal grabbed the headlines as some politicians started making controversial statements about the heritage structure. An argument surfaced that it is basically a temple. A few youngsters chanted Shiva Chalisa in Taj Mahal premises. As the issue became controversial, police have arrested 12 of them. In a recent development prayers conducted in Taj Mahal again.

Two Hindus performed Shiva prayer at the Taj Mahal and the video related to this prayer is doing rounds in the social media now. The incident happened on Tuesday but it came to limelight after two-three days. Visitors said to have reported to the security officials that two persons offered prayers to a Hindu god in the Mughal monument. The officials at the Taj Mahal revealed that they are investigating the incident.

It is known that the controversy started in last October when the people representing Rashtriya Swabhiman Dal, Hindu Yuva Vahini started offering prayers in Taj Mahal. They have offered prayers under the leadership of RSD chief Deepak Sharma. But CISF security force has arrested the workers of the two organisations and they were later released. RSD chief Deepak Sharma said that Taj was actually a Shiva temple so they will pray Shiva on Monday.

It is known that a BJP MLA from UP alleged that Mughal kings demolished Tejo Mahalay and they had constructed Taj Mahal. He said that Taj was constructed by traitors. A few days later BJP MP Vinay Katiyar made controversial comments that the place belongs to Shiva Temple and there is nothing wrong in changing its name. He demanded that Taj Mahal should be changed to Taj Mandir. He alleged that Shah Jahan demolished the temple constructed by Hindu kings and constructed Taj Mahal. He said that there are several indications of Shiva Temple in that location. He said that Shah Jahan constructed his wife's tomb where Shivalinga used to stand.
